The chip maker Broadcom lured some of the local ink-stained wretches to a conference room in San Francisco's financial district late this morning for a sneak peek - they called it a "geek peak" - at trends to watch at next month's International CES, the  annual gadgetfest that desperately wants to be called something other that the Consumer Electronics Show.
